I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you this school year and beyond. As a Hopewell teacher, I am a firm believer in having purpose, passion, and pride in my work.

Reading, writing, speaking are difficult tasks; and at times, can be very frustrating, boring, and stressful. However, these three skills are essential elements to learning and success. With time and practice, they not only become helpful, but fun. It is my goal to help you improve in each of these areas to understand and communicate thoughts clearly and effectively.

Passion

I believe the most important job of a teacher is to inspire and empower children. To me, nothing makes students feel more confident than being able to express themselves clearly in a respectful manner. Therefore, I have dedicated many hours to researching the best practices for teaching Language Arts-specifically reading, writing, and speaking. Furthermore, I recognize that my content area can be intimidating for many students. I do not want you to be intimidated, scared, or anxious. I want you to enjoy reading, writing, and speaking as much as I do. Together, I believe we can make this happen.

Pride

I have a lot of degrees, awards, and accolades, but honestly that is not what I take pride in. The true heroes of the classroom, what I’m most proud of is you, the students. You are the ones who do the work, make changes, and are in control of your learning. I am merely a guide, or coach to help you when you get stuck.
